Some things about myself!!
Hello everyone, my name is Spyridon-Andreas Siskos and my friends call me Andreas. I am 25 years old and I am studying Computer Science at the University of Crete. My main interests are in computer networks, security, and algorithms. I really like to solve problems in networks and security and finding the most optimum way to do it. In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends, going out and see new places and playing together sports like football, basketball, and many others!
One day, a professor from my department sent us an e-mail talking about a very interesting summer internship in high-performance computing. When I saw it, I really liked a project called “Quantum Algorithms and their Applications” from its description, because it was talking about quantum algorithms that I didn’t know a lot of things about them and I really liked two of them.. Shor’s and Grover’s algorithm. I was so excited about it and I immediately checked how to apply for it! There was a very interesting algorithmic challenge in order to get into this internship and I liked that a lot too!
Then, I got accepted into this summer internship and I was so excited about it! Now, I have learned a lot of things about quantum computers and their algorithms, I have implemented some of them, but this was not only the good part of this internship. I also worked with Lucía, a very good and intelligent girl that helped me a lot in understanding a lot of things about quantum computers and the maths behind them, and we had a lot of fun when we were working on our project!
