Last weekend I’ve been to Serbia as a special guest at Onur & Caoimhín’s place. The travel from Budapest was a bit long by train and quite rough due to several police ID checks. However, I met a friendly Serbian guy who insisted to show me Belgrade at 6 AM before the streets were crowded. This early city tour was really nice. Then I met Onur at Zemun, which is next to Belgrade, and had some rest before the evening party.

We warmed up at Belgrade city center before taking a bus with Onur to Novi Sad where the EXIT festival was. It took us about one hour and a half but it did worth the effort. The festival was inside a fortress and you could find a stage at every corner! We even found a tent with physics students showing funny experiments as the non-Newtonian fluid one. There were a lot of local bands with very different styles and we also found some international artists as Atoms for Peace and David Guetta.

The way back home was not that funny because we had to wait from 4h to 5h30 at the bus station… The day after, we visited the city with a couple of serbian physics students as you can check in Caoimhín’s post.

I leave you with this image which is the outcome of the toothpick trick I performed during the Sunday lunch kindly offered by the Institute of Physics Belgrade. Caoimhín’s is preparing an outstanding video for you which will be available very soon! Onur and Caoimhín’s are planning to come to Budapest, so expect a great post in a couple of weeks.
