A Greek in Edinburgh- PART 2

Well it’s been over a month now,so let me give more perspectives on my experiences here!

First of all,everything is still good with work,my flatmates and the weather! Yes, weather is back to usual; now it’s cloudy, in ten minutes it’s raining and in fifteen minutes the sun totally blinds you. Fortunatelly, i have brought my sunglasses from Greece!

But let’s actually talk about Edinburgh. I should say that it’s actually a beautiful city.From the architecture to the people living here everything calls you to love this place! I am sure that this exactly the point where a picture says a thousand words!

Of course I was lucky enough to be here on the most exciting period of the year: the Fringe Festival! It takes place in several locations all around the city,from 2nd of August to the 26th.The city is full of people and you can see acts all around the city; even on the streets! There is a variety of things you can watch; stand up comedy performances, operas and musicals, exhibitions, dance and physical theater, cabaret and children’s shows. You have many options throughout the day-and night- and there are a lot performances for free too. You can even download a smartphone app so can check at all time what performances are near you, if there are seats available and much more information about every act/event.

And as if all these weren’t enough,there is one more great event currently happening here : The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo! It is placed against the world famous backdrop of Edinburgh castle where a huge stage is install to welcome the tourists that want to watch the performances and every night the event finishes with spectacular fireworks visible almost to every corner of the city! They have also installed a web camera where you can have just a pick of what is happening everyday throughout the day!  

PS: I would never have guess that I would travel all the way to Edinburgh just to watch for the first time a stand-up comedy performance by a greek actress; I have to say it was actually very funny!! Feta with the Queen, ladies and gentlmen!
